elohelomg
Been looking for a linux antivirus for a while...not for for the client, but for a server, and the only thing available that I see is clamav, and, well, its not so good. Was wondering if any linux users here have an a/v running on their server/gateway, and, what antivirus they use.I would request a cracked version of eset for linux (for gateway protection), but, I dont think it would get much momentum. Pedrito
You can try Comodo Antivirus for Linux! It's free, no need for medicine of any kind. ;)

Siddharta
hey u don't need an antivirus for a linux system! most hackers and malware developer create malware code only to those paid OS not for linux! How innocent! You can use Avast Free for Linux or Eset (paid one)! Some malwaremonger create viruses to enter your PC through the Linux partititon and then they manage to infect the other partitions! For example..... Download page for Avast for Linux http://www.avast.com/linux-home-edition Info about Eset for Linux http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2722
x3r0
"Most" doesn't mean there are no virus in Linux. There are some, but in my opinion, rarely to be found in the wild by users. And I think most of Linux users are advanced users, they aren't type of people who will run any "suspicious" *nix binary - there are some who aren't so advanced, but I doubt they'll stick long enough to use Linux. They merely use Linux mostly because being curious about Linux, then eventually they'll get bored, back to Windows again, and wipe the entire Linux partition along with its GRUB.But it's good to have an AV as a defense better than defenseless at all... insnclwn Guilty
totally wrong, linux last stats have 210 new "virus" sw also can self run like windows. Linux is like all monolythic kernel have issues, some with vmapps. graphics ports issues, not advanced options available. bad programmers or people dosent know about tech, how develop a sw for advnaced sw or hw. they dnt have labs also many other support. Linux for pro audio n videos, jst sucks!. still isnt the most used sw os. once linux gets to be more used. also we still find a lots of problems. windows is the most advanced sw in the world. also they help a lots linux project, like apple. thanks to msn apple still alive. insnclwn Guilty
of course. like i say all sw have some sht on it. not all issue is fault of the os sw. third parties sw also have issue in many ways third parties sw are the mayor problem maker. elohelomg
Would kill to run eset on this linux box, especially their gateway server, so it would be like a web scanner traffic scanner for the server...but there are no fixes for it, and requesting a fix for linux apps doesn't do too well... elohelomg
clamav isn't that good, otherwise woosh indeed :Pi was thinking...i know there are alternative servers for eset, what if i register with a trial, and use the alt server....would that work? elohelomg
While i can make do with the regular version of eset on a personal computer, the problem im having is i need one for a server. i know of avast and avg offering free antivirus solutions for linux, but, i think a server running the same antivirus wont have the same effect.
