SoftChip
Hi! I just want to mention that Secunia supports more than PSI v3. I think the nsane Secunia PSI listing should reflect that. :-) Maurice Joyce: Links To PSI Versions Supported By Secunia: Version 1.5.0.2 - No Auto Update Facility - Full Secure Browsing Notifications. http://secunia.com/PSI1Setup.exe Version 2.0.0.3003 - Full Secure Browsing Notifications. http://allmyapps.blo.../public/6303... Version 2.0.0.4003 - Limited Secure Browsing Notifications. http://secunia.com/PSI2Setup.exe ***Version 3.0.0.4001 - Released 28th September 2012 *** - No Secure Browsing Notifications. ftp://ftp.secunia.com/PSISetup.exe or this link http://secunia.com/PSISetup.exe From this Secunia forum post: https://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/13234/version_3_0_vs_2_0 Personally, I'm still on v2.0.0.3003 with no plan to upgrade. It feels like a "Pro" versions with all it's flexibility and info. To me, v3 feels more like a "Grandma can do it" version, very simple.
jalaffa
Why should we be listing older versions of this software you feel?
SoftChip
Hi! I feel that listing all of them will allow everybody to pick the one they prefer, as they do not provide the same level of information. Easy to see: v3 has "grandma" level info shown, and that's an icon and that's about all. However, v2 let's you find what the vulnerability is, where is the fix (so you can install it yourself, if PSI fails to install it), where it found the vulnerable files, with a shortcut to them, straight access to the appropriate forum page if you have trouble with a detection (or why a certain patch never installs) and how to fix it (like that powerpoint vulnerability MS Update does not detect). Basically, v3 is "dont touch anything, we'll do everything 'cause it too complicated for you", and v2 is for those who can go to command-line without having nightmares about it, Power user type. The best way to understand why is to try them both v2 and v3. Don't waste your time with v1.5, as v2 looks pretty much the same, and v1.5 is without auto-update capability. One reason to put them on the page would be to tell everybody that they can to use the one they prefer as the upgrade is NOT mandatory! Like any tip, take it if you like, leave it if not. I wrote to clarify the fact because there has been a fair amount of comments about the "forced downgrade" to v3 on Secunia's forum...P.S. I will look up my settings, I don't remember being sent a notif for your post... Sorry for the delay!

Grandma can do it so no need for PSI 3 we will get back to Version 2 instead of version 3 :)
