speedpedal
I'm satisfied with Win7 - I like Win XP much better, it's much easier to navigate, and I still use it. There's only so much you can do with Keyboards and Point and Click. We're drowning in useless technology However the Magic words NEW VERSION Still grabs most everyone's attention .and we still buy the latest crap expecting it will do something wonderful. . . Tweety.Abd
I installed Windows 8 on my computer and switched back to Windows 7 both times. It was not due to that I didn't like it or because it wasn't good as Windows 7, but it had to do with software incompatibility issues. Many software which I are currently incompatible with Windows 8. One of the issues was AMD driver, which was resolved, but there are many that remains like Rollback RX, PerfectDisk, Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1, etc. I am probably going to switch to Windows 8 permanently by the beginning on 2013. DesiPirate
Switched back to windows 7 after using windows 8 for almost one month as my main OS. It has a lot of bugs and feels like some beta OS. Maybe will reconsider using it when windows 8 SP1 is released.
Administrator DKT27 Posted October 10, 2012 Administrator Share Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks for more info 6enii. :)As for users point of view, Windows 8 is going to fail, let me explain.Me not liking Windows 8, used to read people saying Windows 8 is going to fail because it's another Vista. Nonsense. Vista didn't fail because of new looks it introduced, it failed because of high system requirements, driver problems, slowdown, bugs, etc. stuff. Windows 8 on other hand, is made to run on older system and new tablets (and normal PCs ofc), it has only minor driver problems from what I can understand. Windows 8 improves on speed than Windows 7. Not sure about the bugs. But why Windows 8 will fail? My statistics are telling me that lot of it has to do with prejudice of the OS by common people. Right from start, Windows 8 has had negative publicity. First it was the fear of "all cloud OS". Then came the bloody metro. Later start menu was redesigned, I thought the black start menu was less functional, but ok anyway. But later Start Menu was removed. Then we came across MS's full metro stance. The more and more people I see, the more have views to not even try Windows 8, forget about using. To top it of, new metro is different, users not regular might not easily understand it. All this and other too, makes me feel it's not going be famous among public. This is of course, my view about how people are seeing it. I can be wrong. By no means I'm saying Windows 8 is bad (excluding metro), just that it will not take off like Windows 7 or XP did.
mlauzon
I went back to Windows 7 Ultimate (retail; purchased Nov. 2011) a few weeks ago, from Windows 8 Pro (retail; I bought it about 2 weeks after it came out), because for some strange reason my HDD usage kept hitting 100%, and I was unsure why. Paulo Fixo
Hey Guys, in order to give a try to win 8 i made a partition on my hdd, so no need to lose my 7 and all my stuff...From all that i can tell, win 8 is not so bad and i found it light and smooth, no bugs till today...It manages ram in a better way and cpu temperatures are lower, so its a good start after all...The Metro menu its a touchy thing, so introducing it to a desktop version was not a good idea, but, oh well... at least we get the same experience and have access to tablet related stuff... its like a bonus. And the start button lack, i was disapointed... not a problem now i got used it...i installed Rocket Dock so all my shortcuts are available, problem solved...If you want to try Win 8, do a partition and install it there, dont be lazy... :P

Had that problem too. System process taking all the HDD usage. Later found it might be Norton. Either way, the more you will use Windows 8, the more you will find it weird and buggy. Lots of speed, but less usability. I personally still feel locked inside a cage.

Marik
Edit Forgot to mention the windows 8 disc I had is now in the bin snapped in 1000 peaces! I wont see that os again. good, but the better question would be why even use an os that enables microsoft to remotely blow up every app they deem inappropriate? windows 7 is the way to go...they'll come around and release a second service pack after they see that the number of users they had in mind would switch to 8 aren't switching
