UD2008.pngUltimateDefrag is the Ultimate Defragger and File Placement Optimizer. Defragging hard drives helps to restore your hard drive performance. File placement optimizing on the other hand, boosts your theoretical hard drive file access performance by up to 300% of manufacturers quoted averages (typical performance increase you'll experience is between 25 and 100%) by placing the files you want performance from onto the faster performing (outer tracks) areas of your hard drive. With UltimateDefrag - you can specify which individual files, programs or games you want the best performance from. The "Archive" function places all of your unused files out of the way and onto the slower performing areas of your hard drive.

Thanks to jalaffa for the update.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this should work on 64-bit systems also. The release of separate versions for 32/64-bit was something introduced in version

2.0.0.53. But both with earlier versions and now with this version only one setup file is given.

Anyone with a 64-bit system willing to test this one?

yes, in order to re-update the status on the fp, a user with a 64-bit system must confirm your theory

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but...

Whenever installing a new version of UDefrag... Is there a way to 'save' your settings? So that you don't need to re-enter what ffolders/ wildcards to scan/use...

As it's been quite annoying everytime a new version is released and when I install it with the you know what, that my settings are basically reset to factory defaults.

Thanks.

Yes there is :)

Go to C:\Program Files\Disktrix\UltimateDefrag2008\ and copy and paste the files UDefrag.xml and Backup of UDefrag.xml to your desktop, install the new version, start it, change at least one setting, shut it down, go to the program folder and copy and paste the old files back into that directory ;)

  • 1 year later...

I was wondering if anyone who knows about the BootTime Defrag operation could shed some light on this registry entry..

autocheck autochk *

UDBDef C:\Program Files\DiskTrix\UltimateDefrag2008\UDBootCfg.xml

auto_reactivate \\?\Volume{7e8f60ae-22b4-11df-bb2a-806e6f6e6963}\bootwiz\asrm.bin

..And if anyone would know how to possibly modify it to work correctly ( ASRM = Acronis Startup Recovery Manager which works just fine.. ). I have found this in three places however it is in a directory which has to have Administrative Privileges for access.. Anyway looking to fix this..
