Hi i want to know is here anyone that use a memory optimizer?

some people says that m.ompimizers only slow down pc

Hi,

I used to use a form of memory optimizer program with WinXP. For me, it was a hit/miss. I then upgraded my RAM, then decided to switch to Vista. I noticed immediately after switching from XP to Vista that my PC was much faster. Vista has built-in memory optimizers like SuperFetch, ReadyBoost, and ReadyBoot.

I don't think any of them work, I've used Memturbo in the past and it had some nice tweak functions, but these weren't related to RAM(not direct anyway). Couldn't say I either noticed a speed drop or raise.

eBoostr however did boost all of the systems I used it on(I've used it on a laptop, a slow desktop and a fast desktop). If you use XP and have 2GB RAM or more I recommend using 368 MB of your RAM for eBoostrs cache(disable caching when gaming to prevent errors ;)).

Use to have FreeRam Pro on one of my s..l...o....w pc with 256RAM. Not any more though, don't see much difference.

But FreeRAM Pro came highly recommended

Message = "This script will attempt to restore memory." & vbCR
Message = Message & "If you choose to continue:" & vbCR
Message = Message & "1. Wait for 5 seconds, before resuming any activity." & vbCR
Message = Message & "2. After 5 seconds, refresh Desktop for best results." & vbCR & vbCR
Message = Message & "Continue?"

X = MsgBox(Message, vbYesNo, "Optimize")

If X = 6 Then

On Error Resume Next

FreeMEM=Space(275000000)

On Error GoTo 0

MsgBox "Memory Optimization Finished.", 4096, "Done"

Else

MsgBox "Memory Optimization Cancelled.", 4096, "User Cancelled"

End If

Copy to notepad and save as .vbs

Note:

FreeMEM=Space(275000000)

275000000 = 275MB

If you have +2GB, you can set it higher.

CachemanXP is supposed to be good. I use and like it, plus it can show CPU and Mem usage in the taskbar.

For Vista O&O Clever Cache.

Task Manager already do that.

Yes CachemanXP contains tweaks, but those tweaks can be manually done through the registry.
