svchost.exe questions

hi there, lately my computer has been lagging in terms of setting up etc. and sometimes i found out that there are a lot of the svcfost.exe from network, local service, user etc etc. I also heard that some of these svchosts are actullay 'fighting' for the memory space, something like that. so is there any ways to know which one can be terminated?

Use Process Explorer (can be downloaded from www.sysinternals.com), it is like your TaskManager but show you more details of the process of each svchost.exe.

There is no need to install, just run it. You can even use it to replace your Task Manager (which I have done).

Then decide for yourself.
