Guys, I need a hack. So let's see if you can.

I have found a 3rd party software that removes previously logged-in username at the time of start up. That's good. I have to type username and password to get access to my system instead of password only (windows default setting). But the problem is with the user picture. The user picture is not displayed but the frame is which looks a bit odd to me.

So, I wanna know is, is there any hack to remove the empty user pic frame from the log-on screen?

Yes, it's quite easy to do that - I use Windows 7 Manager:-

Security > System Security > Log on > [tick] Enable CTRL + ALT + DEL Secure logon

Is that the setting equivallent to Required to press Ctrl+Alt+Del before log-on

Actually the 3rd party soft that I am talking about is TweakNow WinSecret 2012, pretty good, more or less does the same job like Windows 7 manager. :)

Windows 7 Manager goes much much beyond hacking trivialities like logon users - it actually tweaks the entire OS (needs a certain modicum of intelligence, to acknowledge that, though.) :D

Most of the :pirate: already run Windows 7 Manager in their systems (some without even being aware of it.)

Just noted that we posted simultaneously - Windows 7 Manager is superior to TweakNow, too - have used them both. :)

Just try it, mine is different - I'm networked to a MNC in their domain (it will just take a reboot for you to see what floats your boat.)

Enabling the Ctrl+Alt+Del option before login is not helping to remove the empty user pic frame. After pressing those key combinations the empty user piic frame shows up again in the logon screen.

I don't need the frame to show up at all, that's why I have created this thread,

Just tried it on my main desktop - the User Picture is displaying fine, here. ;)

BTW, have you tried to 'Change your picture' at the following:-

Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > User Accounts

You are not getting me..I don't need the user picture on logon screen..I can do that but the picture frame still remains there..that's the problem and I want to get rid of that frame.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\authui.dll

After backing up your authui.dll, use Restorator or ResHacker to open authui.dll and go to the UIFILE folder

You'll need to simply make a little change to the following 3 files

Previously I teased AuthUI.dll for a theme's sake, guess what, had to format my system! Well, that was my mistake though. I should have made a backup. Whatever, this time I will do with backup. So I will be pleased if you could get me some link for Resorstor or ResHacker
