Netflix is getting ready to expand its reach once again. The streaming movie and TV show service has announced that it will be available for the residents of four more European countries later in 2012. Netflix's press release announced that the specific territories it will be entering will be Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. However, specific details about Netflix's services in those countries, including pricing and which hardware devices will support the service have not yet been announced. As with the previous launches of Netflix in countries outside the US, Netflix will not be offering its DVD mail order rental service to customers in their new territories. After launching its streaming service in the US in 2007, Netflix has slowly expanded its reach to include Canada in 2010, a number of Latin American countries in 2011 and the UK and Ireland earlier this year. As part of its latest financial results, Netflix said that just under 24 million subscribers in the US use its services, along with another 3.62 million subscribers from its various locations overseas. Netflix still dominates the paid streaming video market in the US, despite competition from the likes of Amazon Instant Video, Hulu and others. Of course I am not expecting them to provide an extensive amount of content initially but I am certain the collection will grow over time.
