ande
Soon we can expect Emsisoft Anti-Malware version 7. In new version we can expect three main changes: 1. There is no more Ikarus engine, it will be changed by Bitdefender AV engine. 2. RAM usage will be reduced. It can choose number of CPU cores it use during scans, so no more effecting PC during scans. 3. Removing malwares from registry/cleaning registry and this is where great amount of energy and hard work was concentrated... There are few more changes: Installation/Setup file is updated on daily basis, this reduces size of update that is needed after installation. This is present in this version 6 from few weeks ago. Smart Caching - after first scanning of PC there won't be whole scans of PC anymore needed because all next scans won't scan cached part... Now they are at final part, testing compatibility with other softwares, list of softwares that they need in detail to test is large, from compatibility with Windows 7/8 applications like Windows Defrag/Optimize and Defragment, Windows Backup, System Restore to 3rd party softwares like archiving software, other security based software, burning, imaging and backup software, document viewers and editor etc. Now only what I hope is that for IS part to be integrated and not to stay 2 separate programs that are highly compatible. Edit: Now Emsisoft will join large number of security products that are using BitDefender AV engine, and that will bring less FP and since BitDefener engine is faster that Ikarus it will also bring faster scans. Also it is important to say that main reason that Emsisoft decided not to collaborate with Ikarus anymore is unacceptable number of FP detections. darko999
Very Interesting, IK engine have FP issues, I understand why they would go for BitDefender Engine, both have amazing detection rates, but BitDefender also has less FP.
