Hi!

How to add new @outlook.com e-mail address in Windows Live Mail client (or, other e-mail client)?

When I try to add new address in Windows Live Mail I must manually configure server settings, but don't know settings for outlook.com.

Thanks!

Log into outlook.com and check the server assigned to your account...

Well, I didn't find any server assigned to my outlook account. Honestly, I do not know why I had to do that, nor do I properly checked. :)

New Windows Live Mail 2012 can't automatic add outlook.com email account too. But, I find way to add manually.

Add new e-mail account.

Then, change Server type to "Windows Live Hotmail"

That is all! :) Tested, and working. :)

You can add this settings manually too (not tested):

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)

POP SSL required: Yes

User name: Your outlook.com acc (for example [email protected])

Password: Your password

SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)

Authentication required: Yes (this matches your POP username and password)

TLS/SSL required: Yes

For IMAP server: imap.live.com

I expect that will Microsoft in future change this settings.

Why bother, make yahoo or gmail account. Hotmail or Outlook is really pain in the head. Though, Hotmail have some nice good features and security compare to yahoo but I would go for gmail.
