Tweety.Abd
I ran some SMART tests on my corrupted hard drive and here's the report. The problem is I do not know how severe the problem is and if it is safe to store data, like Movies, Games, and Software on the drive. Since I have no knowledge about the SMART report, I wanted to know if any of you guys could help me out on this one. Prior to the SMART test, I ran a 6 hour long Check Disk on the drive and here was the report:
Administrator DKT27 Posted July 23, 2012 Administrator Share Posted July 23, 2012 Which software did you use to get the SMART data? Try HD Tune (frontpaged) or CrystalDiskInfo. From what I can understand, the number should increase, not decrease.Either way, it doesn't look good to me.

And what do you mean it should increase and not decrease? Could you please elaborate more (: Thanks

Administrator DKT27 Posted July 23, 2012 Administrator Share Posted July 23, 2012 I meant, Relocated Sectors Count, it should increase in problems, not decrease. Other things aren't good either. Anyway see this. Also, do try other softwares I had recommended. EDIT: I told you. It doesn't look nice. Try checkdisk again and also try HDD Regenerator (analyse only at first). I'm trying out HDD Regenerator 2011, just doing a Pre Scan. Its going to take hours :\
Tweety.Abd
I'm not sure if HDD Regenerator works at all. There are a couple of bad sectors at 4 MB, and it says that it has regenerated them all, but when I quit the application and start over again, it says regenerating all over again at the same sector. Administrator DKT27 Posted July 25, 2012 Administrator Share Posted July 25, 2012 You were using paid version? Cause free version only allows fixing one sector.Anyway, I'm not an expert but bad sectors and those values do show that your drive isn't in a good condition and may fail soon. I'll advice you to keep regular backup and get a new one as soon as possible. If not, just keep backing up and wait for the drive to fail.Keep trying HDD Regenerator, get a full version if not already.
Bizarre™
@Tweety.Abd:You better perform a backup and invest money for a new HD.You'll save yourself a major headache if you do this.
