Maxhedroom
Outbound is especially important if your running any apps 'on medicine' so they can't phone home and deactivate. I have 'Automatic Program Control' turned off in NIS 2012...it's a little annoying the first day or two until you've authorized all the system and legit app net requests, after that tho nothing gets net access without my approval...just the way I like it. :D
Dodel
Inbound & Outbound in my opion are both critical, I always want to know what's going on with my network upload / download. As already stated, if using 'enhanced' software you actually in some instances need to be able to permanently block network access.I did rely on Automatic rule creation but I've now resolved to manually allowing access to anything, as I have much more control.I think what people need to understand on this thread however, is what the Op is actually asking... and also note that the OP is using some form of monitoring, rather than none at all. (Which would be just mental like.. :))RegardsDodel
