avmad
Webroot's response is interesting (To me anyway) http://blog.webroot.com/2012/07/19/webroot-bulletin-regarding-av-comparatives-results/Good or is it just waffle?
Alanon
Webroot's response is interesting (To me anyway) http://blog.webroot....atives-results/ Good or is it just waffle? Well, whenever Webroot encounters a new, slightly different, or even changed .exe file, it engages in a monitoring sequence. That's what actually allows for the roll-back feature to be implemented. The settings can be tweaked in accordance to individual preferences. So you can automatically monitor files seen by less than 90% of the users, as well as only those seen by less than as little as 50%. There's also the option of setting up file monitoring with a time frame of change as the criterion. What I can confirm as a user is that the database is getting updates at a tremendous rate. And that the monitoring and removal are, in fact quite good (as far as my home-made tests have shown). That, combined with the excellent results it's been getting at AV-test, makes me think it's a matter of method, rather than quality. And I tend to believe Webroot (despite of the previous well-off rep they enjoyed, I always despised their products) since they took PrevX as their basis. I also believe that they are improving at a more rapid pace than all other vendors combined. Malwarebytes and Hitman pro have yet to find anything since I've the Webbie on.
