Olexijl
Dear members,I just updated to FF 14 and the site identity manager shows me here, if my login/logout is SSL-secured. On every website (facebook, ebay, amazon) i am SSL secured while / after login and while logout.I would appreciate to have this feature on nsane.forums here as well. Either ways, i do not know, if it can be made.olexijl
shought
This would require us to get an SSL certificate.AFAIK these are quite costly...
x3r0
This would require us to get an SSL certificate. AFAIK these are quite costly... How about using nsane-owned self sertificate?
shought
That would require you to manually accept our certificate (as it would not be related to any root certificate authority).I don't really see any reason to do this...
Administrator DKT27 Posted July 19, 2012 Administrator Share Posted July 19, 2012 Also, from what I've learned and seen so far, the way IPB works, securing the login/logout won't be enough.
Administrator Lite Posted July 19, 2012 Administrator Share Posted July 19, 2012 Also, from what I've learned and seen so far, the way IPB works, securing the login/logout won't be enough. We could setup IPB to completely use HTTPS, however for the reasons given by shought, we can't consider this at this moment unfortunatly. Olexijl
Thanks for reply. I see the problem is on financial base. However, since all nsaners would benefit of being secured, we could perhaps start a donation.I would donate via PayPal some money, if people would donate as well, the admins would perhaps be able to make it...PS: how long is an SSL-certificate valid usually? Administrator DKT27 Posted July 19, 2012 Administrator Share Posted July 19, 2012 Everything aside, just read this article: HTTPS is more secure, so why isn't the Web using it?
myidisbb
sites that have ssl cert usually want to sell you something.
