i was thinking of setuping up a server that supports x64 is server x64 a good way to go for a gaming server or should i stick with the 32bit

I honestly wouldn't know, gaming servers are not my cup of tea. <_<

Using a UNIX based system for a server is a good idea. I don´t know whether you should use x86 or x64 architecture.

I recommend you to use the one you are most accustomed with.
