rKAnjEL
For the record, this is rather annoying, I try to download the Gag fix, link doesn't work, so I refresh and it says I have to wait for 20mins! This isn't the first time this happened, just clicking the link isn't necesserly downloading it! Edit: Posting moved from original thread where it did not belong. PS Works fine here. Check your settings (and read this thread through maybe ;))
Administrator Lite Posted September 17, 2008 Administrator Share Posted September 17, 2008 Actually you need to atleast download a part of the file before you have to wait....
darksteven
i guess the proxy is down now. 3 items i tried to download. all of them just go to the nsane front page instead of starting the download.

It's a problem on your hand  Read through the first pages of this topic and you'll probably see what's it that you have to change. Updated first post with all 'valuable' information from this topic. Please read the first post before posting about a download not working. pHant0m
Might be useful info, but... For those only using Eset Nod32 AV 3.0 (everything else disabled) like myself, an easy fix is to add "http://proxy.nsanedown.com/*" to the exclusions list in advanced setup. To do this, in Eset 3.0 main window: 1) Press F5 2) In the setup window that appears, use the navigation on the left side to get here: "Antivirus and antispyware" > "Web access protection" > "HTTP" > "Excluded addresses" 3) With "Excluded addresses" highlighted, click the "Add" button 4) Type the following: http://proxy.nsanedown.com/* 5) Click OK 6) Click OK in the Setup window 7) Click the X in the main Eset window to minimize to tray That's essentially all I had to do. Never had a problem with Eset doing that before, so maybe it's just a newer update. I don't know for certain. Edit: If the file you're trying to download is what Eset is rejecting, you'll need to also make an exception in the Setup window under "Antivirus and antispyware" > "Exclusions" , and make the exclusion to where you're trying to save/extract your file. You may also need to make an exception to your Temp folder. If you are a WinRAR user, it might be a good idea to change WinRAR's default temp tolder and add that to the exclusions instead of Windows' own. For example, you could set the following to WinRAR's default temp folder (change via WinRAR options/preferences menu): C:\Documents And Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\RAR\ And set your exclusion to C:\Documents And Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\RAR\*.* ...Assuming you're using XP and Windows is installed to C. Replace "USER" with your XP username. I've tested this, and works just fine. Unfortunately for 7-Zip fans, changing your default Temp folder doesn't appear to be so easy. But, if you were to just add your entire temp folder to exclusions, you should have no problems using 7-Zip.

I did read the first post & all subsequent posts with no real answer t my problem, will post if i find out a fix. OK. I fixed the problem.. I have installed previously "Tab Mix Plus" into Firefox3. This causes all proxy links to loop back to the 'Nsane' Home Page To stop this happening you need to go into 'Options' in Tab Mix, then goto the 'Links' section & uncheck 'Prevent blank tabs when downloading files' May be of some use for future reference guys. All good now & thanks for all the references left by others...
