A new version of Firefox for Android is expected to become official as soon as next week.

In fact, Mozilla has already started to tease the revamp, stating that it is a major one and that the mobile browser is about to become faster, smarter and safer.

“#Firefox for #Android. Something BIG is coming your way next week,” the company announced in a recent tweet. The company also linked to a flickr photo, embedded below.

Recently, Mozilla brought major changes to Firefox for Android, through adopting a native UI for the browser, in an attempt to provide users with a faster experience on their devices.

The Native Firefox for Android is available only in Beta for the time being, and next week’s announcement could be about its release in the official (stable) channel.

We'll see about that. The current FF version for Android is a piece of crap, it's incredibly sluggish for no apparent reason.

For the first time, I agree. But that's the same for Dolphin HD and kinda also for the default one. Chrome is not even alpha in terms of usage. Opera is far more better than all of them IMO.

Opera is pretty good but I'm using Dolphin HD at the moment and I have no problems with it.
