Alanon
Well, my advice would be - if you're happy with your current setup, don't bother with chasing the "best" anti-virus. The best protection starts with yourself, and that never changes. If you're comfortable with ESET, and you're careful, that means that ESET is what's best for YOU. ;)
majithia23
@yadav as lyldz said - " why do you keep asking the same question again n again ! " and i roger what Alanon says " The best protection starts with yourself . " the way you are running from this post to that topic , believe me , no Anti Virus shall work for you . let alone of finding the best . ! and i highly anticipate ( or rather i know ) , even if you run multiple Real time AV scanners at one time , a system in your hands will still get infected ! dont get me wrong , but you need to understand -- THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE BEST ! i highly suggest you do a little study and research to understand the basics of computer security and stuff - That is start with yourself . Search the forums like nsane and get an opinion of all the options available and then try and see what works for you !
clubhouse
And just to cloud the issue, some people don't use antivrus for system protection ;)
Nima
I think this is the the most discussed topic in the forums. :DIn my opinion, as I told before, the best antivirus is your brain. :)
morteza
Absolutely yes Nima.some people even run risks in PC for test of AV and after infection of PC , uninstall old AV and install another one .this cycle will be continued...most of infection and hack occurred when you allow the risks to damage your PC. I am with Alaon, on that one. If you believe that you have good AV installed than bother with any other AV. Bearing in mind, some AV tend to slow and destroy system. My advise is to you like mentioned in my many previous posts that, best AV will depend upon you when you test them rather relying on other peoples comments and reviews. SnakeMasteR
- Always update everything what's possible once a week (OS, softwares, drivers and dependencies)- Do not visit porn sites- Do not use cracks, keygens, hacks or visit sites that offers such- Use only well known and trusted sites for downloads- Do not click on every shortened url- Use spam, pop-up and script-blocker in your browser(let everything be blocked, you can allow what's needed later manually, not vice versa)With all that, you can be safe with Microsoft's integrated Firewall and Security Essentials. :)

lazzser
There is no best antivirus, but there are many good ones. If you choose one of the good ones, the level of protection they offer is almost the same. ESET is a good one and it´s very light on system resources, Avast is a good alternative too. Using brains only as protection is not a good practice, indeed it uses to be a very bad one. Your common sense is your first line of defense, your antivirus is the last one. Someone should start a topic with the title: What's the worst anti-virus? :uhoh: Kingsoft´s?
Technology
Someone should start a topic with the title: What's the worst anti-virus? :uhoh: By far what can I predict, this topic was been answered in various different topics regards to "Best AV". darko999
I ran many test on a virtual machine, every av got some miss detections, there is no real perfect protection, the best you can do, is to mix some security suites to improve detection rate, at cost of some performance "In some cases".
