this worked for me:

changes: made after setting to initialize

- general : minimises to system tray

only one running instance (multiple potplayer disabled)

do not check for updates

store settings to .ini file

enable global hot keys

left double click : fullscreen/restore

- skin: potplayer default skin - original_en.dsf

hide skin while playing

- playback aspect ratio : keep default aspect ratio

- filter control -> video decoder -> h264 and avc1 set for core avc video decoder

- audio decoder -> built in codec settings -> enable dynamic range compression

- subtitles -> font style : verdana, bold, size:10

- video -> colorspaces : enabled use hardware fuction to handle if possible

enable yuy2/rgb24/32 high definition conversion

ycbcr<->rgb rules : auto selection

ycbcr processing : auto selection

ycbcr <-> rgb conv. : tv or lcd monitor

- audio: speakers: virtual headphone 32 bit (real)

reverb settings : enable normalize matrix

lfe redirection : enable, enable frequency

- association: select all

do install core avc codec its available on frontpage

if experiencing low sound output use srs sound box (also available on frontpage)

alternatively place following file (after unrar) in c:\(your personal folder)\appdata\roaming\potplayermini (appdata is hidden folder)

@waka waka

that guide is really lengthy and requires 4 more softwares besides the player.

Here I am on windows 8 RP x64 bit and it seems coreavc is right now incompatible with Windows 8,it does install properly but when I try to add the coreavc as a registered video filter, the pot player crashes.

Any suggestions/ideas (explaining the steps) to add core avc decoder to pot player,cos I am not sure whether its a win 8 issue or a 64 bit player issue.

Thanks

I have windows 7 x64 and installed potplayer 64bit before. The player didn't work with some of the decoders. So I suggest you to use potplayer 32bit instead of 64bit. Alternatively to core avc, you can also use Lav filter http://forum.doom9.o...ad.php?t=156191

if you have a good gpu, you can choose MadVR renderer over EVR Custom Present. Follow the guide as posted by WaKa Waka.

I use this guide for best quality. http://imouto.my/con...ding/#changelog

for nvidia graphics card core avc enables gpu acceleration and it works perfectly with x64 daum potplayer on x64 windows 7

if you dont know much about codecs better not to install them on your system

output quality of potplayer is great even without any outside codecs

for HD movies try mirilis splash player pro ex 1.12.2
