But comparing to other firewall software which are paid versions, Comodo as FREE version does a pretty nice job in alerting and protecting. It is without doubt a very good programme. sirri
I am using Private Firewall now. Less annoying pop-up after 7 days training period. They still keep developing and make improvement every release  Light and compatible with most AV/Suite and ITS FREE. Never look back to another. OA also offer free but they don't play nice with my current setup.

avmad
Not sure what you mean by stand alone, but Online Armor Premium is the best firewall I've ever come accross.I'm using it myself and it's brilliant. Very easy to block programs you don't want phoning home B)Firewall, Web Sheild, Program Guard and Anti-Keylogger all in one light package :DI'm using it with Eset AV and no problems. Alanon
Hell, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say MD. XD Classical HIPS + patience + brain + reading comprehension = unparalleled protection* What is meant by Classical is that it has no whitelist. Nothing is trusted. This is different from, say, Defensewall, as it doesn't assume non-trusted, but always asks. :) It's so versatile, you can make template rulesets, program groups, etc. to control all aspects of program functioning. And it has a firewall featuring full outbound/inbound control, a process analyzer, startup analyzer, registry browser, and much more (should anyone be interested, I'll gladly help with anything MD related, spreading the love! XD). Oh, and it's properly maintained and free. Oh, yeah, just in case someone freaks out - this is NOT the malicious Malware Defender 2009. It has been around for much longer. *all three required for Malware Defender to work

Using Windows 7 firewall with WFC from Binisoft. I like your setup incl. (Rollback Rx|Sandboxie|SUA|UAC|Applocker|WFC). We could talk about this kind of setup, I mean security setup based on Windows Built-in features and in Depth Security Model. It's really interesting. Cheers. JasonDavison
I like Seagate firewall best, light and efficient...unfortunately it was bought by a bigger firm and discontinued, don't u just hate it!...The last version only supports WinXP, no Win7 version available.. spootnack
Can anybody tell me if Tinywall is better than Windows Firewall Control? I tested today : Windows 7 Firewall Control, Windows Firewall Control and Tinywall. I really like Tinywall. There a no popups ! By default all traffic is blocked apart some allowed Windows services (DHCP, DNS, Windows Update and so on...) and then you can whitelist by process / executable or windows what you want. Really cool.
