Shucks, only suites are listed. Those are great only for Noobs, if you think you're a Power User, standalones would be far better instead. Could not vote as I was looking for 'None of the above.'

If the choice be one of the above, go ESS. It's light, practically set-and-forget, but still packs a punch under the hood. ;)

Kaspersky provides THE best as far as the AV section goes. That's a proven fact, not an opinion. As far as an opinion goes though... the firewalls contained in most security suites are not as good as stand alone firewalls. There are exceptions to that opinion, but then you get a weaker AV along with the stronger firewall.

Edit: If your only choices are the ones you have listed, then I'll agree with Alanon and say ESS.

I'd have to go with either Kaspy / Eset / Avast and an independant firewall rather than a suite. I always work on the principle that if one part of a suite is compromised then it only follows that the other side of said suite is also.

Running two independant security apps whilst doesn't negate the possibility of it being compromised the overall risk is much lower.

Dodel.

Without a Doubt AVAST ( FREE ) and Comodo......

But remember there is no best Antivirus.

Just be aware of malware and malicious sites and configure your firewall.

Don' t click @ all you see ( first think and read ) and then yes or no or whatever it is asking you

And where a Condom when you visit Porn sites ;-)

Cheers

JJ

I think when ESS6 released i choose it. :) I test it with some risks and better than ESS5 in detection rate.

You should try Privatefirewall - it`s really light on resources and doesn`t have so many conflicts (like Comodo) with other security softwares (I am using PF in two comp. , one with NAV2011 and the other with nod32) B)
