I was using the "make zllictbl.dat Read-only" after installing the serial.

Uh-oh, that "make zllictbl.dat Read-only" method should never be employed (it could additionally lead to a stability issue) - one should opt for the alternate method.

Meanwhile, if you need to delete the 'zllictbl.dat' file try the follg:-

1. Go to 'Overview' --> 'Preference' and uncheck "Load ZoneAlarm______ from startup"

2. Go to services to disable 'TrueVector Internet Monitor'

3. Reboot into 'Safe Mode'

4. Delete the stubborn 'zllictbl.dat' (if required with assistance from Unlocker)

"make zllictbl.dat Read-only" method is what's recommended on the front page.

Also, I did try to disable 'TrueVector Internet Monitor' in Services, this came up with a message "Action Denied", it just would not let me "Disable" only uninstall the whole ZA suite - by the way this has only happened since I updated to the latest version8, now I am not even able to go back to the older version, ZA must have cleverly changed something in their software to overcome the medicine.
