Zeus_Hunt Posted August 20, 2005 Share Posted August 20, 2005 I was installing Win XP 64 bit....stuck on product key screen....wen could not get past it....restarted the system and put the Vlos 1.2 (linux amd 64 version) and wen it got to the manual partition screen...I found no partition.... one blank HDD.... :rolleyes: Now I have a blank HDD with no partition....So plz provide a few suggestions to get back my partition....I think the 1st thing that I would do is fdisk /mbr....Then I have downloaded a program named Active @ Partition recovery......I have never used it so dont know how it would come up....I have the data towards the end of the HDD so I believe I should be able to recover the data...Any other suggestions... nsane Posted August 20, 2005 Share Posted August 20, 2005 just run "fdisk", no parameter, it should be pretty step by step for deleting and re-creating a partion :rolleyes:edit: i'm saying you might still need to delete the old partion. it's possible the file tree or whatever is still there (thus causing probs)... Samurai Posted August 20, 2005 Share Posted August 20, 2005 Personally I would have waited to back everything up first, before I attempted to perform such a task.Try going into Administration Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management and having a look in there to see if all is well.
