Hi guys,

like others the fix I was using has stopped working as well. I'm going to switch to NODLogin, and was just wondering if it works with the trial or do I have to install a retail version?

Thanks

It will convert your trial into retail.

Install your trial version as per normal but without any 'patch' and run Nodlogin.

After that just click 'upgrade to full version' and schedule Nodlogin.

I don't remember who wrote about the problem being with the eset servers but I'm inclined to agree. If you read wildersecurity posts alot of licensed customers are getting fed up. I'm sure they are just a small percentage of those with problems since most folks don't check forums. And as usual no comments from Eset except "check your username and passwords" (as usual). Really a shame for a #1 product.

My nod with marsu fix also can't go to 3333 (stucked at 3331), i think i'll try new kaspersky until they'll fixed their server. Do u have a problem that nod sometimes doesn't go to tray after startup?

NodLogin 9.6 works fine and updates easily sometimes more then once a day.

I`ll not jump from ESET to Kaspersky (yet), sense all it`s well with NodLogin.

What's the recommended way to schedule nodlogin or does it just automatically run whenever it needs to?

--------------------------------------

Mine is with WinXP , I am the Administrator, installed NodLogin (Normal Mode) and that`s all. Don`t know if is possible to schedule...

When you wish to see if there is a new update, just have to click on Nodlogin.exe file that is on Desktop and update AV manually (usual way).

Those interested may download from this link :

NodLogin 9.6 :-

Download (for x86 and x64 OS) on Mediafire.com.

As always, Jofre, thanks for your help.

So all nodlogin does is grab and install a user id and pw from somewhere that will only work for one single update, is that correct? If so, then I would think that if one used the eset scheduler to schedule the NLI app to run automatically after every successful completion of the AV signature database update, then the NOD32 should continue to be able to update automatically without the need for any further user intervention. Anyone have any thoughts about this, or am I totally off base on how this one works.

You can schedule nodlogin to run by itself, just follow the u/m instruction:

Install Nod32 v3.xx

1) Remove user name and password in NOD32 v 3.x during installation

2) Put "nodlogin setup.exe" in Eset folder and run it. (install hidden mode). You can delete the setup file after running it if you want.

3) Go in Eset UI 'Tools' and then Scheduler and then "Add"

4) Click 'Run external application'

5) Taskname "Nodlogin" and Run the task Event triggered.

6) Event to trigger task:"Successful update of the virus signature

database"

7) Run task as soon as possible

:dance2: In "Run application" window, browse to nodlogin.exe

(Executable file

C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\nodlogin.exe

In 'Work folder'

C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus )

OK

9) Go in Eset UI 'Tools' again and then Scheduler and then "Add"

10) Run external application

11) Taskname "Nodlogin" and Run the task Event triggered.

12) Event to trigger task:"Successful update of program components"

13) Run task as soon as possible

14) In "Run application" window, browse to nodlogin.exe

(Executable file

C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\nodlogin.exe

Again in Work folder

C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus )

OK

that's it, your Nod32 should auto update every hour or during bootup.

It has been working for me since awhile without me needing to manual update.

This is how I scheduled it:

Install nodlogin in manual mode, in ESET go to tools -> scheduler -> external application etc. etc. and select run every hour. Now nodlogin is run every hour to check for new keys (and if your's is still valid it's ok). Then you can schedule NOD to check for updates every hour.

Also be sure to add nodlogin to the EXCLUSIONS in ESET advanced setup. Now it isn't found as a virus. Sometimes nodlogin comes with a new version, then you have to install that one, subscribe to the nodlogin list to get those new versions emailed directly!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Btw, the version I d/l'ed did come with any u/m or I would certainly have taken a good look at that before asking questions here. Also, it appears the website link shown in the installer is down for maintenance atm so no signing up for any notifications of new versions is possible right now as far as I can tell.

I understand now about scheduling possibilities which is pretty much as I had thought.

Can anyone explain what the difference is between "normal," "hidden" and "manual" installation modes are.

Thanks again. Appreciate the help.

Put Nodlogin on my home box and laptop. The home puter shows the expirey date to be 10.08.08. The laptop shows nothing. Why would this be?

It is an ESET problem and jofre knows this, but he also knows that Nodlogin uses commercial licenses, therefore you will get a higher priority for getting updates. :sadwalk:

You would've known this if you had read this topic. :P

Edit: ps I fixed your double post wyrman ;)
