box
Eset3.x_Box4ever3.0  Well, this is going to be like having a birthday party and nobody showed up. Ok, I've done making a new crack for Eset. You ask, why bother when Dennis123123 is coming out with an ultimate crack. Well, I'll say just in case. I think Dennis will make an excellent crack but let’s hope Eset doesn't update its egui to the point that the crack is not compatible. Of course, Dennis can just update his if that is the case.Anyhow, my crack will reset each time you start your PC (nothing new). I also included in Eset's Scheduler a task that will reset itself every 186 minutes. This one has more teeth than just a regular change in the packagetag. I thought about putting it in the Windows Task Scheduler also but I don’t want to add any thing external. We sure don’t need any thing else running in the background. Eset’s Scheduler is probably the best since it is running in the background already. I don't know any antivirus/antispyware that has this feature. You know, the funny thing when writing the code is that one wrong letter or number and your crack is out of wack. DenniZ
Hi,Box Do you add any file to reset the trial in Eset's Scheduler like Dennis123123 add a file"eset-mantainence.exe" to system32 ?

DenniZ
Hi Dennis123123, I'd already made a crack using Windows Task Scheduler:@echo offSCHTASKS /CREATE /RU SYSTEM /SC ONSTART /TN "ESET Trial Reset (Startup)" /TR "%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe ADD \"HKLM\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Info\" /V PackageTag /T REG_DWORD /D 1431655765 /FSCHTASKS /CREATE /RU SYSTEM /SC HOURLY /ST 00:00:00 /TN "ESET Trial Reset (Hourly)" /TR "%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe ADD \"HKLM\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Info\" /V PackageTag /T REG_DWORD /D 1431655765 /FI put 2 schedulers, one is reset the trial when startup the computer, the other is reset trial every hour. dennis123123
To Box and Dennis, Pls add an exclusive in ESET to prevent ur exe file added will be "killed" by EAV/ESSWe both have now, in his v3 and in my (coming in less than 23 hours ) v6Hi Dennis123123, I'd already made a crack using Windows Task Scheduler:@echo offSCHTASKS /CREATE /RU SYSTEM /SC ONSTART /TN "ESET Trial Reset (Startup)" /TR "%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe ADD \"HKLM\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Info\" /V PackageTag /T REG_DWORD /D 1431655765 /FSCHTASKS /CREATE /RU SYSTEM /SC HOURLY /ST 00:00:00 /TN "ESET Trial Reset (Hourly)" /TR "%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe ADD \"HKLM\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Info\" /V PackageTag /T REG_DWORD /D 1431655765 /FI put 2 schedulers, one is reset the trial when startup the computer, the other is reset trial every hour.Great idea for a simple patch, but the problem I had when using "reg add" from any scheduler was a flashing up command window ("dos box") whenver it ran. To me it is too noticable, but for other people, who knows :DAlso, me and box discussed this via PM, but after changing the packagetag, sometimes the program will realize it has been changed and thinks "oh no my packagetag has been changed, better change it back!" and it restores it from before it was changed. This behaviour has been stopped by my patch v5, and also box has used the same method in his new v3 patch.
DenniZ
@DennisHow to stop ESET to restore the packagetag? Is it possible for only using a reg file ?Only the fisrt time install the patch will flash up an command window, showing the task Schedule was successfully added. No more flash up again when reset the trial. I'd tested it for 3 days.I also removed the "watermark" from chineses version manually

dennis123123
Because people don't want a constant process running? I know i'm happier if my process list is smaller, less RAM used etc.I'm strongly against software bloat, hence my dislike of AutoIt apps

If you werent spending time writing an angry response, you might have realized:- constant process, always running additional app + ESET running- scheduler, only runs app for like 0.5seconds, then it is done + ESET runningI'll leave you to do the math. I just say that using the sscheduler in eset... Like I did before, makes problems sometimes.... dennis123123
Because the "new" method of breaking the trial (my v5, box v3) needs admin privilages.Vista no longer allows startup (from reg) apps to have thishttp://www.jimmah.com/vista/Applications/a...in_program.aspx

dennis123123
Actually, box, your crack will not work on XP Home (apparently) - http://www.jakeludington.com/windows_xp/20...ws_xp_home.htmlIt does not include taskkill.exeI guess thats why its best not to rely on external apps
jofre
I think, maybe you shouldn`t post here the way you are doing your Fixes. For sure ESET will read your words and easily they will fight against your "cures" on future ESET releases...Better way should be to use PM, no ? Or maybe I am wrong...------------------------------cheersJofre
dennis123123
Yes, thanks for the advice  but taskkill is a standard windows application, so I think that part can not be stopped by ESET :DBut yes, thats why I have been reluctant to give away any top secret details publically as of yet...I wonder how it is possible to find out any ESET "moles" they have planted on this forum?

Hence, vDown stopped distributing fine cracks for Ad Muncher. This was an issue long ago, but I'm sure the same is happening here in this forum. The so called "moles" are just keeping silent for now.
