So, what fixes are confirmed working with 3.0.657? Is MarsuFix 2.3 working? If not, why? Will it be updated to work? ;)

Hi all. I received an update notification stating that modules have been successfully updated. Just after the update, a pop up message notify me on BitComet.exe is probably a variant of unknown virus. I treat it as a false alarm but my PC hangs after running Bitcomet for around 10 mins. It has already happened twice. Anyone has this problem? Thanks

I had a similar problem just a while ago... Suddenly my ESS detected some .exe files (which I'm sure aren't malware) as threats... I had to quarantine 15 files...

The problem was gone though after I updated the virus sig to 3122(20080522)... I restored the quarantined files, rescanned them and ESS reported them as clean... ;) :)

Seems like there's a bug in the virus sig...

;)

I'm having the same virus signatures as you. But seems kind of weird my PC no longer hangs if i don't start Bitcomet. It just state that it may possible a variant of unknown virus. I'm given an option to delete the file at first but i just leave it as i'm sure it's a false alarm. But it hangs my PC after a period of time running Bitcomet though :)

Exclude Bittorrent in the firewall(Exclude Bittorrent(Does Bittorrent use Java? If so you have to exclude some Java things too) for all ports and ranges) and Antivirus(Put it in the Web Browsers category and put a cross in front off it, this will disable scanning of the pieces of a torrent, which won't help anyway due to the fact that these are just pieces of a whole, but it will scan when the file will be totally created or when you try to access it :)).

Lastly, I just want to mention one other person, mara-. He made every thing possible by sending me the source code to the first crack. It has every thing. I refer to it every time I author a new crack. Thanks!

No problem dude. If you ever need more help, just PM me. Thanks for mentioning me.

Yeah, latest signatures are "crazy". It detect that PES2008.exe (Pro Evolution Soccer 2008) is probably a variant of unknown virus. I had to exclude it so I can play the game again. I hope that this will be fixed with next signatures.

Cheers :)

You do not need to reinstall it. Open Quarantine in ESET and restore deleted file. After that add that file to Exclude list.

Cheers :(

Hi,All !

For those here having problems with ESET :-

When you install, maybe if you put a visa sign on = Disable detection of potentially unwanted applications = this can solve your problems...

That`s what I always do.

cheers

Hi Shought :(. I'm not using ESET Security so i don't have firewall. Maybe i shall try it though since it came with a nice combo package of AV and Firewall. I've already excluded bitcomet.exe in the exclusion but seems like it still hangs my PC  . I checked the Quarantine list but bitcomet.exe is not in quarantined.

Guess i have to try what Jofre mentioned. Is there a way in the software to disable the 'Disable detection of potentially unwanted applications' ? Thanks ^_^

I checked on Advanced Setup but i couldn't find the 'Disable detection of potentially unwanted applications'. I could find Threat Sense.NET though.

Goto Advanced setup, Real-time file system protection, ThreatSense engine parameter setup, Setup, Options, Potentially Unwanted Applications and Potentially Unsafe Applications, but if excluding did no good i don't think doing this will do any good.

What i was talking about was disable the traffic scanning of Bittorrent? Did you do that too? You can find this under Web Access Protection, HTTP, Web Browser, find Bittorrent there, and put a cross in front of it, by clicking two times(depends on what state it is, if it's blank it's two times, if it's blue it's one). Hope this does help.

Thank you so much Shought. I'll try that :(. Hopefully it won't hangs my PC again. I'm 100% sure that it was ESET NOD32 that hangs my PC whenever i run Bitcomet. I disabled the AV and run Bitcomet my PC never hangs anymore. But i couldn't use the AV then ;). Anyway hopefully what you suggested works. Thanks again Shought ^_^

Edit: But now back on topic aight! This is about Eset Nod 32 Fix for 3.0, so if it's still not solved make a separate topic in which you tell everything you already tried and someone will help you ;)

Any time ;)

But I've got another tip for you: Use uTorrent ;) It's lighter and probably faster than Bittorrent if you configure it well according to their guide. There's some more speed improving tweaks which i could help you implement in uTorrent. Consider it, you don't have to uninstall Bittorrent to use uTorrent, you can just have them installed at the same time(not running at the same time though, well you can, but it's not to be advised).

Can you PM me those "speed improving tweaks"? I wanna see what you mean

Also, can someone tell me if marsu-fix 2.3 is working with 3.0.657 because i don't have time for testing myself lately.

And if not...Marsupilami...should we be expecting a 2.4 fix?
