John

You must uninstall any older versions first. restart and then install.

Not necessary . i installed NOD32 AV 3.0.672 directly without uninstalling NOD32 AV 3.0.657.

THANKS JFE :dance2:

Nod32 Anti Virus Sucks.

I was on a security review site the other day and it came 10th.

Yeah,

PC Mag says Mcafee is the best too.... go ahead use Mcafee.

The thing with ESET products is that you still have a computer after you install it. A lot of the other av products (Norton) become anti-virus machines. Meaning they just run av software and anything that you want to do becomes 2nd priority.

The other thing is a lot of those reviews are done incorrectly using setups that are not very practical. Or a single false positive is weighed very heavily on the negitive scale. Ill take a single false positive (which I can override in Nod) over Mcafee marking all my keygens as viruses and spending alot of time trying to convince it that they are ok.

Nod also has advanced mode. So when something DOES go wrong I can correct it. Quite a few other programs do not have that ability.

Cheers

that's why your a noob.... keep making statements like that and you always will be :) seriously though, that was a harsh statement, but to get your attention here....Sorry but please try to remember that the sites you quoted as placing eset in 10th place are basically being paid to place eset in 10th and then place mcaffee or Norton in 1st

Why do you even bother telling people how good NOD32 is! its not for everyone, its like everything else, shitty things are popular.

Hey man,

I dont disagree with you. I dont particularly like ESET's new 3.0 GUI. I think that ESS is a good product but I dont use it. For me windows firewall is sufficent. But come on man, can you find a less hostile way to state your thoughts?

See you around bud.

Maybe he has Windows Server or something.. I think when I used Server 03, Home Edition wouldn't work on it.. Until I patched the Windows to be recognized as XP.. (cos lots of apps complained about the server os)

  • 3 months later...
I just heard rumors of a new release - ESET NOD32 AntiVirus 3.0.684.

I'm uploading it as we speak (32 bit version done already and page updated)). It is listed on their pages now for download. Timestamp of installer is 24.10.2008. A bit weird. But the installer for 3.0672 had 21.08.2008.
