It is common with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and others. These arrows are displayed to show the difference between the original and duplicate files/folders. You can easily remove that shortcut arrow icon from those folders using the Registry Editor option. To remove those arrows, follow the following steps:Click Start button and Run option from the list.Type regedit to reach Registry Editor.Navigate through HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to reach lnkfile.Available entries for this key are displayed. Double click IsShortcut entry to delete its registry value.Again navigate through HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to reach ConfrenceLink and repeat step 4.Navigate through HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to reach DocShortcut and repeat step 4.Navigate through HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to reach InternetShortcut and repeat step 4.Navigate through HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to reach WSHFile and repeat step 4.Close Registry Editor and restart computer.You will see all your shortcut arrows have gone and the shortcut look like the original file/folders. *Note: to reach easily and instantly to the required entry, press Ctrl + F and type IsShortcut in the text box. It quickly finds the required option for you.
