Administrator DKT27 Posted April 26, 2012 Administrator Share Posted April 26, 2012 security software betas and applications that are updated on a very frequent basis might not be frontpaged. We hardly frontpage betas of security softwares.

Maybe standalone beta sub-forum will be better?? :beta:

Maybe standalone beta sub-forum will be better?? :beta: The reason why betas of security softwares aren't frontpage is that they are unstable, can cause crashes and other severe problems to the system. It's something we recommend the general users to stay away from, hence we don't frontpage them.

Administrator Lite Posted April 26, 2012 Administrator Share Posted April 26, 2012 There is no need to be colour coded; the sentence is correct. Unstable "nightly" or "snapshot" releases, security software betas and applications that are updated very frequently may not be frontpaged. rudrax
Unstable "nightly" or "snapshot" releases, security software betas and applications that are updated very frequently may not be frontpaged.yeah, that's good but I would rather propose a BETA section for Beta updates..Hence, more apps can be frontpaged..I observed that some predefined apps and their BETAs are frontpaged frequently..Hardly there comes a new app in frontpage. This is not objection, just a suggestion! :)
Administrator Lite Posted April 27, 2012 Administrator Share Posted April 27, 2012 Like DKT said; we don't list security software beta's due to the possibility of system problems. We like to protect our users on this basis. This we will continue with for the foreseeable future. We undertake periodic reviews of our applications and usually add new listings in bulk.
