shought
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 is a totally new approach to data security. The main feature of the application is restricting the programs' rights to access the system resources. It helps prevent unwanted actions by suspicious and hazardous programs. The application's capabilities in the protection of user's confidential data have been considerably enhanced. The application now includes wizards and tools which substantially facilitate execution of specific computer protection tasks. Thanks to KilJaden for the update.Download

KilJaden
The new kis 2009 is the worst kis ever ... The included firewall can't even stealth ports automaticaly it will only stealth ports after an atack and only to the atacker ip not to mention the fact you CAN'T control outgoing trafic ... Ok let's say the firewall is buggy and you want to replace it with something else though luck because the list of incompatible programs for Kis/Kav 2009 is HUGE and a decent firewall like Comodo Agnitum or Online Armour you can't use ... Not to mention that the on demand scan engine has some serios memory leaks ... to put is simple Kaspersky is a !@!$!$%@^^$&@$ nice on the outside but for an advanced user is %#@%^#& just like norton products ... KilJaden
You should upgrade to Version 7.0.1.325 it's the most stable Kaspersky version as of yet the new 2009 series is still very buggy at least de firewall and the on demand scanner.Stick to Version 7.0.1.325 until they will finaly get it that you NEED a firewall in a Security suite http://www.kaspersky.com/kis_previous_versions
einstürzende
Mr. KilJaden, I can hardly believe you are advanced user, this is best KIS so far, do not deceive other users by been ignorant...
KilJaden
Call me "ignorant" if you think so but tell me on thing what kind of firewal does not stealth ports by default ? I'm no talking about de Antivirus engine which has been improved i'm talking about the Firewal component which is why i'd recomend sitcking with 7.xx series just for that , not to mention that the on demand scanner still has issues now being" new engine" . The new 2009 series is more user freindly but it lacks one major thing a capable firewall this is why i'd stick to 7.xxx kis version until the guys at kaspersky find a way to fix the huge list of incopatibilities with other firewall's. KilJaden
Are we talking about an coporate product ore an home use product ? Because the last time i checked Kis is an home user product so since i'm a "ignorant" i'd rather have an firewall that automaticaly stealth's my port's even if sometimes some P2P might not work but i could always create a rule to always allow trafic to that port. einstürzende
If port stealthing means such great feature for you, it can be easily setting up in KIS by moving two rules "any Incoming TCP" and "any Incoming UDP" to the top of list of packet rules (with slight modification, action must be deny and not "According to the application rule")But again what is so great in automatic dropping incoming connections instead been prompted to service which needs incoming connections runs correctly I really don't know...Also your previous statement that "you CAN'T control outgoing trafic ..." with KIS is wrong and comes purely from ignorance... Zoo
When Im trying to install it tells me I have to uninstall McAfee VisrusScan since it is incompatible with KIS. Sure! Only problem is I dont have McAfee Virus Scan installed....dont know what to do since I cant get past this step in the installation procedure... shought
Start > Run > regedit.exe > Ok > Search for mcafee > Delete all entries found containing McAfee :notworthy: Also search your HD for McAfee and see if it turns up with anything. After deleting files/registry keys run a registry cleaner like Ccleaner.

They like new! CEO; that will take time, we dont have a new program. So we just give it a new look!CEO; great idea! now how about the name?Let's make sure it has 2009 in it!
