Just installed Bitdefender, everything working ok but just noticed that cannot open security centre at all so cant tell if windows firewall, defender etc is on or off.Was hoping it was a malware/trojan problem but I have run several checks with different software and nothing!!.As I said everything is ok,can I stay as is or will I need to format?.Dont even know if it was Bitdefender?it could have been like this for weeks, uninstalled Comodo before installing Bitdefender, any help or opinions on this would be good, thanks in advance.

Make sure that the "Security Center" service is not disabled - Click the start button - right click Computer - click on Services - check status of "security center", if it is disabled, you can reenable it by right clicking and selecting properties.

I have mine disabled intentionaly as I don't use any security settings aside from windows firewall.

Me too. But when you run Spybot - Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) it tell you this so you can correct it if you want...

Managed to find out what it was!,just for information for you guys out there it was the new activator for Bitdefender,it was that caused the problem, everything works fine was just a bit worried in case it was something else!.If you uninstall Bitdefender its fine so now have it back running,I can live with it,its not causing any problems yet?watch this space!.
