I feel unfaithful to nsaneforums/down

I've been using Nsaneforums for quite sometime, but never really used nsanedown. Instead of using nsanedown, I'm using softexia. It just feels easier to use and doesn't get cut up like the front page of nsanedown does. (some news with pic and description while the ones at bottom only have name and version). While this may or may not be true i also feel that there are alot more software updates on softexia and whenever i search for something, i almost always find it.

I must admit, the forum where i'm most active and where i try to contribute as much as possible is here at nsanedown. No i don't contribute aswell, but i am indeed active and love the people at this particular forum. Just a great place to be a member of :). Especially because of the great and awesome members of nsaneforums :).

I'm not trying to be negative or obtrusive in any way. Just saying whats on my mind and maybe trying to be a little constructive... I write this to hear everybody elses meaning aswell. Maybe some have tried other websites and in the end decided to come back to nsane.

My vote goes to nSaneDown for the win; not only is the software 'better' but there is access to the serials and keygens as well.

No site is perfect and thats why the admins of nSaneDown are open to suggestions and critique-isms.

I, for one, believe that having the pictures for the currently new software is 'cute' and semi-useful; not having them for the older is not taking anything away nor would it add anything if the were there. Heck, even if the site was pure ASCII if would not disappoint me as the content of the site, and the support from its user base is what keeps me coming back two or three times a day.

Good job to the team behind the site; kudos to the user base and most importantly thanks to the software authors and the software hackers for investing your time to the thankless thousands/millions who use your software -- some who pay, some who do not.

You can say that again. I've seen a lot of demands on tpb, mdl, eztv etc. nitpicking 'bout something or the other either bitching 'bout not getting immediate attention/replies to their retarded brain-dead questions or demanding that they need the uploads to be in a different format or something.

I mean these individuals with no obligations at all are helping you out with their time and efforts and rather than being eternally thankful, you go 'round bitching 'bout trivial little things, I mean seriously?

Requesting for feature additions or reporting bugs is one thing but the way people act like paying customers with a legitimate right to demand attention is truly sickening. Whatever happened to that thing called gratitude?

This is so true......I admire the expertise and know how of the guys who 'enable' so much of this software and I'm more than grateful that they're willing to share it....some people should remember that they don't have to pass it on to anyone else!!!!

I'm sensing a little bit of negativity towards this topic from some members, there's no need for this ;)

Softexia attempts to index all software available and does not provide fixes along with the software, you are reliant on the other users to provide the fixes for you. This also means anyone can present you a 'fix' over there (it could be anything, really).

We attempt to index the best software on our frontpage and in addition to that we provide the possibility for our members to provide other software in the Software Updates forum. The software on the frontpage can be seen as software which carries our 'seal of approval' (some stuff is also just still there for nostalgic reasons).

I personally think we provide the best of both worlds in this ways, but that's just my opinion.

As a last comment I'd like to add that Softexia is only out for money. Their incessantly annoying ads are terrible, I hope that nsane will never, ever, become something like that.

Note: the 'last comment' was not aimed at the 'Softexia community', but at the owners. I'm sure there are lot's of dedicated posters over there as well, providing members with help.

I myself am a very internet oriented person. When first coming to grips with its possibilities, lacking the proper education I went through a lot of try-and-err steps along the way. Having achieved a certain level of knowledge, I have been an avid observer for several years prior to my joining here. having joined, however, aside from one other forum in my native language (concerning pipe-smoking. :showoff: ), I have actively contributed solely to Nsane, and it is the main hub of most of my software downloading needs. It not only eases my way internet-wise, helping me with all my tech-news, and all things tech, allowing me a peace of mind to go out-and-about my way searching for other informative news and things like music, books, etc. but also keeps me safe. For that, I thank you, Nsane. :rolleyes:

So, for me at least, there's no other way. Nsane has a wonderfullly diverse member base of high-spirited people that's especially envigorating. Where else am I going to go? Wilders? Majorgeeks? No thanks. Methinks that should I ever find a website that would distance me from Nsane, I would most certainly feel guilty, or at least nostalgic over the good things it has given me. So, salihb, I think I could relate. The stressing point here should not be the chastisement of the less grateful in the community. People are what they are. But it still doesn't lessen the fact that Nsane is unique.

And yes there is a big quality difference, but i have never really been in contact with their community. I have my community here and thats how it's gonna stay :). It's just that you can't have time for everything all the time :/.

I get to download most of my software from nSane (except IDM, Windows 7 Manager and TuneUp Utilities.)

In recent time guys like thylacine and anuraag (just to name a few) have made this site the fastest to break software news and we are undeniably the best discussion board across any site on the cyber highway. Period.
