rudrax
Hey guys, I installed some transformation packs and they replaced my original dwm.exe and explorer.exe..Now I have uninstalled the packs but my original replaced components are not restored..So I want some of my generous friends to provide me those genuine components for windows 7 ultimate x86.. I guess this doesn't break the forum rule..
LiLmEgZ
Why not just reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate?I know it takes awhile to get back up and running with reinstalling shit but a fresh install can sometimes be worth it in the end :)

Administrator DKT27 Posted April 10, 2012 Administrator Share Posted April 10, 2012 cmd > sfc /scannowMay, or maynot ask you for Windows CD. You won't loose any data. All the system related files that you have modified will be replaced by the original.Alternatively, you can use "sfc ?" to see a command where you can replace only specific file. No disc was asked on 'sfc /scannow'..My DVD writer is dead BTW.. I have created a bootable USB though, is it gonna helpful in this case?
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 10, 2012 Administrator Share Posted April 10, 2012 The solution to the above problem should be found here. Alternatively, open CMD and type this: sfc /SCANFILE=c:\windows\explorer.exe Enter. When done, type this: sfc /SCANFILE=c:\windows\system32\dwm.exe Enter. This should fix the above two files you mentioned. Restart when done if required.

Restart when done if required.ok buddy, I visited the microsoft link..I repaired explorer.exe with sfc /SCANFILE=c:\windows\explorer.exe But in case of dwm.exe, no success..Then I go to the link again and tried the alternate method..there I succeeded with first two commands and for the last one, I need a fresh copy of dwm.exe (for x86 BTW). My DVD writer is dead so no chance to insert a repair disc but I have a bootable USB drive instead..le'me know if anything can be done with that and how.. Here is the sfcdetail.log file if that helps Offtopic: I have never played with CMD before but seems cool to play with it..I just knew to type exit to close the command prompt. :)
unknownasphyxiated
if you have bootable usb, just extract dwm.exe link p/s : i think it is safe to do this because on my computer, win7 Ultimate SP1,the version for dwm.exe is 6.1.7600.16385 and date modified was on 14 July 2009
