Dell Recovery

hello guys i bought a Dell 6NHMSQ1 laptop from my friend but i am having a problem recovering it to factory settings.

- I installed Dell Backup & Recovery Manager but it keeps telling me " This is not a dell computer system. the application can only be installed and run on dell computer "

- My recovery partition is still there

- I tried (Ctrl + F11) but id did not help

Any one can help recover my laptop using any kind of software or converting recovery data from my hard disk to DVDs to boot them, Thank you

have you tried

To access the Recovery Environment just press F8 as the PC boots, in the same way you would to boot in safe mode.

When you get to the Advanced Boot Options menu, Highlight Repair Your Computer and hit Enter.

Select a keyboard layout and hit Next.

To access the recover options you now need to log on as a local user. From the drop down menu select a user name, enter the password (if there is one) and click OK.

You should now have a list of System Recovery Options. then click Dell Factory Image Restore and follow the prompts.

i would reccomend just getting a copy of whatever windows it came with and installing that

even if you got the dell recovery to work it have a lot of the crapware that dell installs on it etc

Forget the recovery......

Just instal a Windows that came with it or whatever ;-)

After the installation is ended.

Run Driver Solution Pack

http://drp.su/download.htm

It wil find all of your drivers.

Good luck and don't worry everything will be ok @ the end

Greetzzzzzzz

What version of Windows did this laptop supposedly come with originally?

If its Windows 7... I CAN help you with the not having a Windows 7 installation DVD issue no problem :)

Just drop me a PM, I work on a bunch of Dell machines in my times ;)

Before starting a reformat on any Dell system, I actually ensure that their hidden system drivers (and crapware) is completely wiped off (same punishment is meted out to HP systems, too.) ;)

This pretty much goes for all systems, unless you built your system yourself, then u dont have to deal with such a thing ever :D

Not all the OEM's throw the kind of crap through their hidden partitions as HP & DELL do. :(

Even when purchasing a new laptop, I prefer the FreeDOS (saves big time of dough.) Any which way, most of the systems come shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium or even Windows 7 Basic and a :pirate: would like to settle for nothing less than Ultimate. :D
