I'm concerned too, but it's not just nsanedown. The whole internet structure is being weakened.

Our host is being DDoSed at various locations, apparently there are some people who don't like our host (or some customer of our host). These attacks are not directed at us, but they still take down our servers as well when the main switch gets overloaded.

It will be fixed as soon as possible.

This has nothing to do with 'weakening of the internet structure' ;)

This stuff happens from time to time. I can remember several times in the last 8+ years. Remember when it was a yellow & orange themed site? Nsane ran it back then.

I think it's part and parcel of the sites. You got to have some good luck to make sure the server doesn't go down. And to be honest, until recently we had a very good uptime on frontpage. Exclude the DDoS attacks on the host and we didn't have many problems...

Last but not the least, staff, especially the admins are as concerned as the users and do their best to keep both the sites up all the time. :)

Luckily the problems have been few and far between in recent years (thus i believe the "all the time" used by the OP to be a little bit of an exaggeration). We use multiple servers to ensure even at times of server issues we can keep large portions of the site online.

Remember everyone: We provide all our content without asking for a monetary contribution.
