Chrome...Take it or leave it?

Well, it was bound to happen...

My way too updated Firefox finally took a dump on me.

So, I thought it was a good time to give something else a try...

Enter Google Chrome

Now, at first glance Chrome seems to be a much smoother alternative to Firefox.

Since it gives the impression of being a fairly young browser, it is not too bogged down yet

with the need for an overload of security add-ons.

Web pages load quickly and things seem to be fat and happy until.........

SO I reach out to download a program I wanted to try....nothing special...but when I started the download I found that Chrome had shortchanged the ONE thing that most people want from a browser, a strong download capability.

To be perfectly honest, what was an 8 minute download all of a sudden was a 3 hour download in Chrome. Worst still, you have to install an OUTSIDE download manager in order to see any kind of download speed.

There are NO add ons that will just load into Chrome to manage downloads, its' own download management completely sux big time, and its options are so simplistic that even a beginner user would get bored with it.

Well, I guess it is time to reach out and get Firefox back.

Chrome is a big LEAVE IT in my book.

Here's one which might not spy so hard:

SRWare Iron – The browser of the future, based on the free Sourcecode “Chromium” – without any problems

at privacy and security. Iron, is a free and open-source web browser implementation of Chromium which

primarily aims to eliminate usage tracking and other privacy-compromising functionality that the Google

Chrome browser includes. While Iron does not provide extra privacy compared to Chromium, it does

disable some configurable Chromium features that could share information with third parties. Google’s Web

browser Chrome thrilled with an extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features. But it

also gets critic from data protection specialists, for reasons such as creating a unique user ID or the

submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is

based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome – but without the critical points that

the privacy concern. We could therefore create a browser with which you can now use the innovative

features without worrying about your privacy.

Changes in SRWare Iron 17.0.1000.1 Stable:

- improved Speed

- improved Safebrowsing

- security fixes

Too much hassle with these privacy things. I agree use it or leave it. About the download manager thing... im using IDM for years, even when i had Firefox. So i don't care what kind of download manager has Chrome or other browsers. IDM is the best and fastest.

I appreciate Chrome's speed and security to it's fullest, but why do you guys think I keep backing Firefox? The slow and old fella has features and knows things. Chrome on the other side, keeps concentrating on simplicity while hasn't implemented lot of features. It's addons suck - yea you can have the normal mainstream ones of Firefox but you cannot get the important ones that aren't famous. That's not it, the customization on Chrome isn't near Firefox either.

Last, no matter which browser flavour you use, some addons on Chrome require you to sign in to install, that the addons I found useful. This was the time I had enough of it. I ain't going to give Google any info about what addons I install.

Whoa there...

Now I may just be a simple user, just your average person who has 20+ years experience building and imaging, but I gotta tell ya,

Chrome sucked.

It may grow into something decent at some point, but right now it just has no guts. Look, I do not even give a rip about usage tracks, every time you freakin' clik in cyber space some damn data base has it, so that means nothing to me. It just lacks finesse, and the *cough*, *gag*, add ons seem to me to be half thrown together by over anxious coders who just wanted to be the first on the block. The one that I did find that I use in Firefox seemed to defeat the very language of chrome, slicing and dicing it every time I tried to do something.

I stick by what I said, Chrome is a LEAVE IT project. Wait awhile until it decides what it wants to be when it grows up.

u cannot simply get away with fake gmail account. They will track your all logins either directly or indirectly using cookies

Why is that google tracking runs on almost every webpage on internet?

simple example of firefox being slowly and laggy as hell , run youtube clip try to run mouse courser over and over on it or even in the right side were is other small youtube suggestion clips , and u will see movie stuck ! , try same on chrome , movie playing will got no effect from that.

other thing regard you tube clips playing , try zoom out couple of time (like we all do CTRL +) and watch a clip , u will see its laggy , also in the same time try switch to other tab and back to the movie playing tab , you will see its HARD lagging .

for me this kind of thing draw me back a way from firefox, and i speak as a former firefox users (years)

I am using both of them and i doubt the effectiveness of ghostery as I have seen my ip, browser, operating system, etc reported correctly by websites.

I have set my opera browser to delete all cookies on exit but still google cookies manage to escape.I can see google cookies left behind in ccleaner.
