Quicksys RegDefrag is a freeware utility to defrag registry. It optimizes registry by removing gaps, fragments and wasted space in Windows registry files.

Version 1.3

- Improved Windows 64-bits support.

- Improved table with information about hives in "Defrag Analysis".

- Fixed memory dump in "Defrag Analysis".

- Fixed bug when closing "Get Registry Information" window.

- Added new languages: Português-Portugal, Français, Deutsch and Magyar.

- Minor bugs fixed.

- GUI improvements.

so, i keep seeing that this is getting updated on a regular basis, the question that comes to mind is if this app really works or just screws up your system

Sounds like jv16's registry compactor, but I haven't run this yet.

Now where did I put that system restore button? :P

Well, I guess it worked. I says it shrunk my registry size by 11.59% You can't tell any difference in boot speed, of course.

This is a registry compactor and not a registry cleaner. I used RegCure first and let it do a registry backup and system restore point. RegDefrag also has those options. Probably a good idea to use that.

So, it looks like no harm done and maybe a little clean up. Probably worth running once a month or so.
