How to setup OpenDNS on router

Hey,

So I've got news from my ISP that it does support third party DNS. So I'd like to know how to setup OpenDNS on my router. I've configured my router's DNS and changed it to OpenDNS, but I still get error that I'm not using OpenDNS when I test it. I've tried many times, including change my computer's DNS as well as my router's DNS, but it still does not work, even after multiple computer and browser cache flushes and reboots. So I'd like to know how I can set up OpenDNS on my router so that it's effective on all home network devices.

Thank you.

have been experiencing that some time ago, what I did was reset my router settings to factory default.

or

You can put 127.0.0.1 on your modem/router DNS and enter OpenDNS on your OS.

Clear your browser's cache and restart it.

then go to http://welcome.opendns.com, if all is well you will see this page:

Hope this help..

I'll try that, but I want OpenDNS for all computers on my network, and I would like to block out specific websites on the network.

It's actually the other way around, OpenDNS supports all routers but All routers do not support OpenDNS.

Tomato firmware supports opendns directly but if you are getting problems try DNS-O-Matic, it's offers more compatibility because some routers do not have support for SSL Dynamic DNS connections and OpenDNS requires SSL. Tomato firmware is fully capable of using the SSL connection that OpenDNS requiresbut DNS-O-Matic does not require SSL so more routers are able to use it.

I see your screen shot, you did not input the network name, that box is empty. You need to type in the network label you assigned to that network on opendns and it will work.

You enter that url yourself or was it automatically set? It is the wrong url. It should be this.

https://updates.opendns.com/nic/update?

But I'm sure how to work with DNS-O-Matic. I signed in on there with my OpenDNS account, and selected my host name, downloaded an update client, but it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to.

Doesn't work for me. My router does not accept 127.0.0.1 as a DNS
