majithia23
as i can see ,this one comes with gingerbread v2.3and has a proposed ice cream sandwich v4 upgrade .did you not receive the update ?.coz the ICS is already out and samsung has pushed the OTA update for all its scheduled models .nonetheless , Rooting is an interesting field .a fun way of exploring and learning new things .especially for some one who likes to fiddle and tinkle with stuff .Rooting is all benefits ( remove the manufacturers OTA updates and other restrictions , run new better ROMs , more powerful kernels , better system control , plenty of customization options ) .dont think there is any harm in Rooting , only one i know of --- you might brick your handset . but only if you are not careful in the process of rooting .andthe manufacturer warranty is voided null if you Root .so uptill your phone is still covered under the manufacturer warranty , its not recommended to Root .but if you are some one like me , who doesnt worry much about it , go ahead . ROOT IT . !( rooted my Nexus S in its 3rd month of purchase ... ! )chk out the stuff at xdadevelopers.com to get started ...
