mrkool123
I am planning to install one of these my router a WRT54G v4.Tomato looks way easier to install on.Which one is better.I know ddwrt supports a wider range models, but in this case both support this model. Adrean
i don't know about dd-wrt but I'm using Tomato on an Asus RT-n16 and it's doing great.Toastman's builds are getting regular updates as well.
LeetPirate
They both do most of the same things as far as I know. Tomato supports ssl for ddns which is handy if you use opendns because opendns requires ssl connection and dd-wrt has not implemented ssl for ddns.I always found the QoS system of Tomato to be overly complicated so I prefer to use DD-WRT. Tomato and dd-wrt are both linux based and reliable so it might just be a question of which user interface you prefer.
SacredCultivator
I have a WRT54G2 and I know only dd-wrt of the two are compatible, but the installation process seems too complicated for me. More or less I just don't know if I would benefit from using Third-party firmware.
