Annoying PowerISO issue

Recommended Posts

As of late I'm having some trouble with the SPTD drivers, when DAEMON Lite died on me, and de-installation/re-installation would not help. (If you have a solution for that, too, hell, I'll take it!! :D )

Anyway, I first installed UltraISO, but it too bugged out on me, said I've no drivers for mounting, and gave me one drive with a question mark. :chair: So I installed PowerISO, which works fine, but unregisters upon every boot. I've tried to restrict all access to those files via Malware Defender, but it doesn't work.

The way I'm doing it now is inserting a .reg file that I exported with the license active, and importing it after every start-up, and reconfiguring the app. It doesn't take long, but I shouldn't be needing to do that. <_< Also, I'm looking for a different solution than a system reinstall (I'm runnind XP SP3 x32, by the way), cause I've done that relatively soon. I'm really out of ideas, and getting increasingly pissed.

SOLUTION (copied post from DKT27 for easier management):

Uninstall PowerISO, reboot, use CCleaner, reboot, install PowerISO, insert a new / different name and key and see.

try running System File Checker to fix system irregularities.. then try to install again.. had the same experience before when Daemon-Tools messed up on WinXP 32-bit computer, even despite having the "drive" uninstalled via Device Manager..

I never faced that issue and besides, you don't have to block PowerISO's internet access because it does not get blacklisted. PowerISO is one the apps I respect the most :) Never had any issues with it to date. Did you try registering it with a key generator? Use one to generate a key and it should work.

@tweety: Yeah, I used to do that every time with a different keygen. :( And I never blocked it with anything in the beginning. Then i banned access to the registry.

This happens only when the entered key is not working / is blacklisted. You were using the CORE keygen posted here right?

Uninstall PowerISO, reboot, use CCleaner, reboot, install PowerISO, insert a new / different name and key and see.

If that still doesn't work, please post, I have one more way.

So, I did exactly what you said, and even changed my name and clicked generate a couple dozen times for good measure and - it worked!!!!! :D

Thank you so much!!! (+1)

P.S. Do I need to block it from the net or something? It never occurred to me that the key might get blacklisted. :frusty:

Glad to know that it worked. :)

As for blocking it, I dunno, I looked into ESET's allow/block list and it doesn't seem that it has ever tried contacting net. But as a safe measure, why not? ^_^

Glad that it worked :D It would be helpful if you appended the resolution in your first post so it's easy for people having the same problem to find the solution. And you don't need to block, it doesn't get blacklisted. I assure you :)

UPDATE:

It happened again. -.-

I didn't power down my PC for these coupl've days, and today, after a reboot, it didn't start up. -.-

Then I tried the serials by broascadilie, but they too weren't successful. -.-

Getting really annoyed here.

I think I'll dump PowerISO and go for the MagicISO + MagicDrive combo instead, as UltraISO, DAEMON and Alcohol aren't emulating properly...

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah, I am getting the same issue you got Alanon. The sad thing is it only happened for this 4.9 version. All the previous version never have this problem :(

The CORE team says that one needs to use washer.reg (included the rar file on frontpage) if you are getting those problems. BTW, can anyone provide me a screenshot?

If that doesn't work, do this.

Download

PowerISO 4.8

Or if that doesn't work with the below keygen try this:

PowerISO 4.7

And register it with this keygen:

If PowerISO 4.8 or 4.7 is registered fine with the above keygen, just download the 4.9 installer and upgrade the installation. :)
