The last time I used this (the full version with realtime protection), it conflicted with my AV ESS 5 and make my system crashed :( . When I changed MBAM into free version I got no more crash.

Can somebody explain this? Can it possibly be run along with AV?

After the program was updated, there is an error while opening.

"Run-time error '383':

'Text' property is read-only"

and the program dows not start. I uninstalled it, cleaned the registry and re-installed, but nothing fixed.

Has anyone got this problem?

try delete this folder

make sure you backup the folder first before delete it because it contain your config and quarantine

Windows XP rules.ref location:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Vista/7 rules.ref location:

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

@rapcoolink MBAM realtime protection conflict with ESS free version doesn't have realtime features if you use ESS,no need to enable MBAM realtime protection

Yet that seems to be the intended purpose of Malwarebytes: to be used in conjunction with a "full" AV. I don't really get how a mainstream AV isn't enough, considering the staggering array of functionality that some offer, such as NIS (and if it isn't enough, why doesn't the user switch to one that is). Malwarebytes seems to have devoted fans, but I wonder how many of them have actually seen it do anything? How would someone test that? I know it can do a quickscan of a system in about 90 seconds, so whatever it's looking for must be extremely narrow. I've seen more explanations about what Malwarebytes isn't than what it is, which has led to my befuddlement.

I contacted the support team and they told me to download the MalwareBytes clean-up utility, located here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-clean.exe

I followed the process, rebooted, re-installed the program and now everything works just fine!

So everyone with the same error, try this!
