Which is the Best HDD Encryption Tool?

Is it the the BitLocker Drive Encryption of Windows 7? or another software?

Is it an effective protection for drive files?

Does it slow down file access after Hard drive encryption?

good question , my short answer will point to the Encryption mechanism assimilation, regard to products uses at least AES .

in general it DOES slow system overall performance , but for some users it doesn't matter , like home user working on docs / surfing the net .

for gamers for example it be the worst case :D
