HX1
Anyone else have issues with MPC-HC crashing when opening videos after the 8.0.8 update.. Everything is fine up to 8.0.7... Thinking that it my possibly be installing an update to something I have not installed... Had to reinstall 8.0.0 and then the 8.0.7.. to keep it working.. tried to run the latest MPC standalone and got the same thing before the rollback.... but it did say I needed new Direct X June 2010 regardless .. yet it did not fix the issue.. HX1
Funny thing is that my on board only supports parts of nine is made for 6 on Direct X and I dl'ed from Microsoft directly.. That notification came across from the standalone install of MPC.I only use one codec pack and it is K-Lite Full... I think what myidisbb is saying is could have something to do with it. I install on '7' - Lots of stuff with Player.. BUT.. there are several options I do not choose... I think what has happened is that the updateupdated something improperly or installed something I chose not to.. Like maybe it didn't check for it to be updated or something and possibly even altered settings for the pack.. as it sits now, I have 8.0.7 installed and works fine... so a little mystified.. yet given the age of my system and lack of several capabilties it doesn't surprise me.. :P
