i use emule for 3 years now.. if you do not release then you do not need a emule-mod. You aint going to download faster if you use a emule-mod, emule-mods are only good for eye-candy and more upload-options.

Emule Morph is a good mod

Xtreme is also a good one

And ZZUL is also nice to try

These mods are safe and follow the official emule-project rules (credit-system etc. etc.)

But if you do not want all those extra options then i suggest you stick with the orignal one which works perfectly..

Just make sure you open your ports in your router to get a HIGH ID!

And there is no torrent site so good indexxed like sharethefiles.. all torrent sites have fakefiles/virus on it. stf does not, and if it someone puts virus/fakefile on it, it is deleted directly..

i agree its not fast, but it is long-term! you always get the files you need.. sometimes in 1 day sometimes in 1 week and sometimes in 1 hour...

and if you have a high id (ports open) then it isnt so slow at all

and the longer you use emule the faster it gets because you build op credits. the more credits you have the faster you get trough the waiting list..

I have emule always on, 24/7 on the background.. if i need something i look on a few index sites click some ed2k-links, i dont look on it anymore.. next day i look in my downloads and everthing is complete.. very easy, you'll find everything

and just download an ipfilter.dat [stf], put it in your config-map and your emule is safe..

then download a server.met [stf], put in your config-map and you have a save server list..

i cant say which is easier since i dont use emule unless to get the odd item or sumthn...i just stick to what i know which is emule plus..start up..update servers...choose the one with the most files-hit files ontop to bring up the most (usually one of the razorbacks)/connect and dun..

as far as those other ones maybe dumble will explain the others... :welcome:

If you start with emule for the first time then just install the orignal (0.48a), because it just works good. Do not install the beta because it still has some issues, they are improving the KAD-protocol in the new versions which is verry good but still needs some improvements. But if the final comes out, you defintly need to install it!! :dance2:

A few months ago, maybe a year allready anti-piracy organisations cutted off the big ed2k-servers. Since then the search results of emule did not work properly anymore. So KAD is the future for emule!

You can find your files by using ed2k-index sites like sharethefiles.com

This mod is officialy supported by the emule-project team. So it is safe to use, it has a lot of more options then the oringal. Only use it if you want to 'release files' and when you have a high upload, it has options like powershare. It uses more CPU then the orignal emule. I use this mod myself..

But remember, you are not going to download faster if you have a emule-mod installed! Its only for eye-candy and more (upload)-options.

When you install emule, make sure you have an ip-filter before you connect!

You have to open ports (i use TCP:10003 and UDP:10010) in your router to get an HIGH ID, this is very important.. otherwise downloads will be verry slow!!

but you'll find all info about keeping your ip-filter up-to-date ..
