What's .ISO?

hey all, I've seen this file type around (.iso) and don't have a clue what it is. I'm gonna try to download a program for my friend and I'm not sure how I'm going to open the file. any help? :rolleyes:

Its a CD image.. U burn it with a burning program like Nero or Alcohol 120.

to be more precise, it's an EXACT duplicate/image of a cd in file form. example, make an iso of an audio cd, burn it to a cd-r, then look the info for the cd up on the net with winamp or something. it should reconize it as if it were the original, unlike ripping to WAV and burning :unsure:

dvds are sometimes also found in iso format.

if you just want to watch play it on your comp you can save discs by using a virtual drive like daemon tools what can be found at my site \/
