hhhmmm, both webroot links working fine here. they might be blocking anonym.to now...will look into it

as for compression, i personally use both, winrar for basic stuff and 7zip for actual compression (unless it's a RAR file obviously) :sneaky:

Nope, no IP blocker or anything. Actually, while running literally nothing but wide open internet access it still says the same thing...

do a trace route, open your dos/command prompt and type this...

tracert sales.webroot.com

did and I got this...

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>tracert sales.webroot.com
Unable to resolve target system name sales.webroot.com.

My ISP is comcast, don't think that should be a problem? Bleh...

bit more info...

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts - WinNT/2K/XP

C:\Windows\hosts - Win95/98/ME

...open the file in notepad and search for sales.webroot.com ;)

HOSTS file:

A database that contains a list of remote hosts' IP addresses and their logical names that any device on the network can reach.

Is used for blocking URLs too....

Open your HOSTS file with notepad and delete everything except:

127.0.0.1 localhost

I must be lucky  I just checked mine and found nothing BUT 127.0.0.1 localhost (unless of course CCleaner cleans it regularly)

So I tried doing this... C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

and it didn't workout that way...

I did C:\windows\temp\ and there was just a .tmp file..."symprof.tmp"

so then i did C:\WINNT\ and there were no HOSTS folder. But there was a system and a system32 folder. I then went into system and saw nothing dealing with HOSTS. I then went into system32 and there was also no HOSTS folder.

So...uh...yea

you have windows xp right? :P

go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and right click the "hosts" file (no extention, NOT A FOLDER), click open, then choose notepad from the list

alright, so i did that, but i see like 5 dif HOSTS files, lol.

I see a "hosts," a compressed "hosts," a HOSTS.bak, a hosts.ics, and a 1.hosts

lol which one?

its a file called HOSTS (might be uncapitalized) with no extension... So its not 1.host, not hosts.ics, not hosts.bat probably not a compressed hosts, and its most likely ur first one.
