Here Are Some Defragment Software:

1. PerfectDisk

2. Defraggler

4. Ultimate Defrag

5. Diskeeper

6. Auslogics Disk Defrag

Which one would you choose and why?

Any Suggestions/Tips about Choosing will be appreciated!!

Diskeeper only. My computer runs allot smoother and faster with Diskeeper than any other defragmenter. :)

perfectdisk also to quate mastershake in another topic he says how to get it for 4.99 today and tommorrow only

in a message from raxco support on another forum:

There's a lot going on at Raxco. Since this summer, we have a new President, new products, we improved our licensing and pricing system, we set up a new customer service department dedicated to consumer products (and they are now getting re-acquainted with this unique upgrade issue), soon we will launch a newer, improved website and the wrinkles are getting ironed out with everything as they might with so many changes going on at once. Raxco is still committed to product and pricing excellence and keeping our customers happy.

further when questioned on even a different forum yet they said the lic system was changed to battle piracy so it could be a while for a keygen.. not sure. also if you buy it make sure to do so on the business part of the site to make sure you get the space management tab not all home versions will have this now.

correct quate

if you go to the website and mouse over business then click professional then click buy now/upgrade the upgrade is 14.99 YOU DO NOT need a previous lic add that to the cart and then use coupon code gobble and it only will cost you 4.99 now... i just bought a lic and i just use the one key on all my machines it works fine they have never killed a key and i have done this from version 10

seems cant edit post right now for some reseon

i prefer auslogics

defragging software has broken my default windows system backup so often..it has taken a bit of time but now can restore the use of default windows backup no problem..along with 3rd party software rendering windows default settings

useless..what works for you based on you system configuration..i watch what 3rd party progs do to the default systems functionality and if uninstalled how many hoops do i end up jumping through to get the defaults restored..on one box it

has been close to 4yrs without doing a system restore or using a backup or reinstall..i am more concerned about hardware failure.

Cheers!

I have used PerfectDisk for years and I'm very satisfied with it, it's features are wonderful and I feel the differences, I extremely suggest you to try this. ;)

Try PerfectDisk. I would always recommend it's real time mode with optimizations but its also helpful for your specific request.

What you can do is, select "Defrag only" on all the drivers and totally disable real time defragging. But why PerfectDisk? Because it has a weekly, enabled by default, schedule to defrag the drives. Hence, it will silently defrag your drives every week without you have to worry about it, or troubling any resources. :)

Diskeeper or the internal Win7 defrag only.

As far as I know, they are the only ones which honor prefetch layout.ini settings which optimize boot loading. Most (all?) third party defrag programs break that and actually slow down boot time loading.

Both UD and PD allow you to respect layout.ini. Infact, PD has the best boot-time speed increase (personal testing + more members saying so).

Thanks. Good to know. Are these the default settings? Last time I tried PD (quite a while ago) I didn't see this option.

See this screenshot:

And here's a screenshot from the help file describing it:

I don't know what's the default setting. All I can say is that this option can be found in Global Settings in PD. :)

This isn't the right place to ask it.

Anyway, I don't know about the links but first thing you should do is disable / uncheck it from checking any updates whatsoever, from the main options of DK.

Defraggler Portable (My choice) but only if needed for specific case or file. The internal defrag application on Windows 7 is more than enough for me.
