Marik
It seems, that the mozilla corperation is working heavily on the upcomming versions of Firefox. While Firefox 3 is still in Beta Phase (Public is RC4 and nightly is Beta 5). Now they relased a nightly that has the Version "Minefield/ 4.0a1pre" It is using the Gecko engine 2008030402 while Firefox 3 Beta 4 is using 2008030305.Firefox 4 successfully passed the ACID 2 Test. Firefox 3 Beta 4 ↓Firefox 4 Alpha 1 ↓Acid Test ↓FF 4 Pre-Alph is available for dl from the fp but will not be added to the fp news mainly coz i really don't wanna see 2 posts, one after another of the same type :sneaky:...after the fp will clear up a bit then it will be fp'ed

SacredCultivator
FF 5 doens't have much difference to 3 in terms of GUI... But it is mainly just bug fixes, which I find a bit what/ Since that is what they are doing with FF3 basically =X.. So for now you don't need to change to FF 4. As I tested it on my Laptop.. Some of my extensions still work on it as I think they literally didn't change much cept for hte Version Number + probably some bug/stability fixes.---Here is a link to where i read this off of: Mozillazine

SacredCultivator
@Jman123: Hehe really? I have no problem installing it... As honestly i think it is just FF3 just with different 'Version Number' otherwise everything is the same as I rememebr FF2 - 3 the GUI was changed, but in FF4 nothing in regards to GUI changed.. But what do I know I always use a Skin. More or less I don't go Hunting for Bugs and whatnot to really know just how much has changed.
HATE9X
why can't they just work on 3 and after finishing it start working on 4..? :Poh well..

demonon
Firefox is abbreviated Fx or FX not FF...How do I capitalize Firefox? How do I abbreviate it?Only the first letter is capitalized (so it's Firefox, not FireFox.) The preferred abbreviation is "Fx" or "fx".Source

toyo
well... Fire-fox => Ff. Fx&FX are already sold to "effects", sorry Mozilla. @demonon: this is not a site where we go correcting typos by other members. If there is a solid mistake that NEEDS (capitalized) to be corrected, then (maybe) do it, with proper respect and care for other's ego. Using PMs is also recommended sometimes, you don't wanna slap anybody in front of others. If you are very smart&cool, people will notice anyway, without flashing it before their eyes :fear:
temp123
I never understood why Mozilla worked on multiple version at the same time. I mean, doesn't it make more sense to focus all the man power to the app that is currently available and make that the best they can?Shouldn't they just add the new features that are on FF3 to the next release of FF2?
