shought
I saw this new subforum and thought let's fill it up with something handy. Yargh, marik filled it up before i was able to finish this :eekout:Have you ever downloaded a movie and wanted to put it on a DVD with subtitles? Well if you haven't then why are you reading this? Shush! Go away :P Nah, i'm just kidding. I thought some people new to downloading movies and stuff that want subtitles on their DVD's might find it hard to do so. Well it wasn't easy for me to at first but now i learned it and it's just a piece of cake.First of all we need WinAVI of course. You have to pay for this program but that isn't really a problem is it? :pirate: (For the keygen pm me)I recommend using WinAVI 7.7, which i uploaded here: http://www.megaupload.com/en/?d=KXV4HVGZWe also need DirectVobSub, this is included in the K-Lite Codec Pack so i recommend just using that.Download K-Lite Codec Pack: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm (Which one(Basic, Corporate, Standard, Full or Mega) doesn't matter)Or download DirectVobSub only(not recommended): http://www.free-codecs.com/...=3000&s=379When we've installed those two the only things we still need are these:-A movie, preferably .avi but other formats will do too-A subtitle file which is named exactly the same as the .avi file, but with an .srt extensionSo if you have: I.Am.Legend.KLAXXON.avi the subtitle file should be named I.Am.Legend.KLAXXON.srt.If you don't know where to find subtitles for your movies try this site: http://www.divxsubtitles.netYou'll have to login before you can download subtitles, but you can just use their demo account: '[email protected]' as username and 'demo' as password. Now you can press SEARCH and after that you have to select your language and subtitle file format(select .srt here). Enter the name of your movie and if there are subtitles they'll be found. This site has a lot of subtitles but most of the time language specific sites have more, so you'll have to find a site that suits your needs the best. You should also try to find a subtitle file that already matches your movie's name but sometimes others will be in sync too.Now we can really get started.Note: parts of the screenshots are in Dutch. My OS is dutch so couldn't get around that, but i think you'll understand.Make sure the names of the movie and subtitle file match, and that they are in the same folder, like this:Open WinAVI now and press 'DVD'.Find your movie and press 'Open'.Press 'Browse' and pick the output destination. (Don't pick a DVD as output folder, you'll have to burn it later on)The output format should be DVD, but you can select VCD, SVCD and others as well.Press 'Advanced', you get a new window here you can select 'Chapter length', 'Audio bitrate' and stuff like that.(Make sure you've selected 'Constant video size' and 'Preference: By speed' if you select 'By quality' you might end up with a file that's only 2 GB)Now select the tab 'Encode' and make sure that 'Audio Stream' says: 1(MP3) or 1(any other format) and that 'Subtitle stream' says SRT(1). If it does not, then either DirectVobSub doesn't work or the filenames don't match. But let's not talk about that, let's talk about when it does show SRT(1).If it does your all set, just press 'OK'and press 'OK' here again. Wait +/- 1 hour and your DVD with subtitles is ready. Now the only thing you have to do is burn the files in the FOLDER YOU SELECTED/DVD_01_1/VIDEO_TS folder onto a DVD with Nero or any other DVD burning program. These files:Make sure you select DVD Video for burning. And there you go, your DVD with subtitles is ready. Because you didn't use Nero to encode it you saved +/- 1 hour, the only downside is that you weren't able to create a fancy menu... Well that's a pity.Added the screenshots, parts of them are in dutch though... :pirate:This is the first time i wrote anything like this so comments are welcome.
